Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.
